Pender’s 24 Hour Vet & Emergency Animal Hospital offers all of these for Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area residents.
Current law and our standards prohibit us from practicing medicine over the phone without physically examining your pet but we can assist you in deciding if your pet is having an emergency and needs to be seen by an emergency veterinarian in your area.
"The difference between friends and pets is that friends we allow into our company, pets we allow into our solitude." -Robert Brault

I love spending time with my son, Benaiah. I enjoy riding my thoroughbred mare, Misty, as well as playing soccer and hanging out with family and friends. I also enjoy playing the cello.
During veterinary school I developed an interest in public health. After graduating, I had the opportunity to pursue a biomedical degree in innate immunology through a fellowship program with NIH. My research was focused on the signaling mechanisms and pathophysiology that contribute to the inflammatory and metabolic changes underlying the development of chronic inflammatory diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease. After completing my fellowship, I took some time off to work with an organization called Exodus Cry in Kansas City, MO to help in the fight against human trafficking. Now I am back in veterinary medicine and loving it!
