Important Pender Emergency Room Update:

Beginning on 7/12/2021, Pender had to adjust our emergency hours. We are open to see incoming emergencies from 7:00am-10:00pm until further announced. Pender will still have qualified Veterinary Professionals for nursing care 24/7, 365 with a doctor on call for hospitalized patients. Since an Emergency Veterinarian is not onsite after 10:00pm, please remember to call us if you need help with your pet, as our evening and overnight team does have access to the status of other local emergency rooms and can better serve you if you call first to discuss your pet’s needs during night-time hours.

Acupuncture is the treatment of conditions or symptoms by the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body in order to produce a response. In veterinary medicine, there is evidence of the success of acupuncture for treating disorders of the reproductive, musculoskeletal, neurologic, pulmonary, gastrointestinal and dermatologic systems. The most common conditions that are treated include traumatic nerve injuries, intervertebral disk disease, degenerative myelopathy, and chronic pain such as that caused by arthritis and degenerative joint disease. Acupuncture stimulates the healing of some conditions and provides effective pain relief in others. Acupuncture is a complementary medicine that can be combined with other types of veterinary medicine.

We are happy to offer the following services to assist in the health and maintenance of your pet:

  • Dry needling- a series of fine needles placed on a pet’s acupoints
  • Electro-acupuncture- involves fine needles with an electrical current
  • Aqua-acupuncture- the injection of a sterile medium into a pet’s acupoints

Before scheduling your pet’s Acupuncture appointment, please speak with your veterinarian.
