Important Pender COVID-19 Update:
We thank you for your patience as Pender has adapted to a new COVID-19 way of Veterinary Medicine. We will continue to adhere to our Hands Free and Curbside processes until further notice.
When you call the hospital, we appreciate your patience in holding as we are currently experiencing longer than normal wait times, 5-15 minutes. A member of our team will be with you as soon as possible. Please do not hang up; all calls are answered in the order they are received.
Most of us have heard the expression, and by the time we are in our thirties, we’ve observed the truth of it not only in ourselves but in our friends. With our pet friends, it is no different. Most of our pets age at least seven times faster than we do, and for some small mammals, it is 21 times faster. An annual physical is necessary in pets because changes happen very quickly, and a two pound gain per year is just not healthy. Remember, obesity in pets is a real problem and can decrease their life expectancy by up to two years. Parasite problems, obesity, increased water consumption, dental disease, a lump, a low grade ear infection…any of these health concerns and more can be picked up with a discussion and a good physical exam.
